Lock down today!

I'm so excited for the next couple of days. I love it when I see the first egg or two start to wriggle. You just know what going on inside there, hoping they get it all worked out...pun intended.

The eggs are coming from a pure Cuckoo Marans roo, and a mix Cuckoo/Americana roo..with black sex links hens and other Americana's. This will be fun..I want a Cuckoo Marans so bad, I know that it won't be pure, but hoping one will come out to look like dad.

Wish me luck...here we go come a few days or so...

Our power went out on lockdown day

I was so stressed as I watched the temps drop. My hubby felt sorry for me after about 5 hours and went in to town to get his Dads Generator.

It was a good thing to as we were out of power for 30 more hours! We may have gotten chilly but those eggs were nice and toasty

Today is lockdown here too. My first attempt at hatching. I really hope we get a few chicks, the kids are already so excited. If not we might be running to the feed store and waking them up in the middle of the night when they "hatch".

Lockdown on my first hatch today too!!

I'm SO anxious to hear them peeping and see them wriggling... but I've had some issues with temps fluctuating so I'm hoping for the best!!!

They are in a Little Giant still-air, temp around 102F, Humidity gosh knows (so I put 2 little jars in there with water and rags)...

Fingers crossed for everyone's hatch!!

Chickenchick.. You beat mine. I was just getting on to say that I'm seeing eggs wriggle..waiting for the first pip, I'm thinking they will start right on time, tonight or tomorrow...getting more excited..

Congats chickenchick..let us know when you get them hatched!
