We are on take off! Now the waiting, because non of the others have even started. I see wriggles, but this one started early in the morning, so has taken it's sweet little time to push just a tiny bit more.

I'm excited anyway.

ME TOO, ME TOO!!!!! I have 8 buff silkie eggs in the incubator due to hatch tomorrow (Wednesday).

I did a split hatch for my first attempt. Crazy, huh? Purely ignorance on my part. Last Sunday I had 3 splash silkies hatch from 5 eggs. I left the last two in the incubator with the 8 buffs, but I'm sure they're not going to hatch.

So now I'm watching and hoping for the buffs to make their grand appearance.

My air conditioner quit yesterday (the temps are already in the 90's outside) and my house is about 88 degrees. I'm dying but my new chicks in the brooder are just peachy keen. I actually love living in Florida until this happens. I'm praying the repairman gets here by tomorrow morning. .....and can fix it with minimal expense.

Featherbaby, I hear you about temps in Florida..used to live there, the humidity is what gets me now if I go back.

Good luck on your buffs..I love that color..and I just saw my first, real life silkie a couple of days ago. Have looked at them here on the net..they are darling!
