we have 23 Standard Cochins out!! (and still more to come!) Due day was yesterday but over night 3 more pipped. So I think they are a bit slow.. 1 I had to help which scared the crap out of me, but I did it and it is a happy healthy chick. I would like to keep some of these, but I know I probably won't. So many choices! I am hatching for a lady that I met on CL. She is giving me some guineas and possibly

waiting back on an email from here. If I don't get the peachicks than I will get some of the cochins which I would like too. BUT I will probably do this again for her so who knows what will happen! This my first hatching on shares. lol

I have 11 pheasant eggs and 1 turkey egg due next week and some duck eggs that are all different hatch times--they came from nests that I had broodys on and the broodys either gave up or were killed- not a good year for broodies around here.

They are soooooooo cute!

One in zipping process that is moving, but taking a little break.

One with big pip that is moving, but not zipping yet.

One that doesn't seem to have done anything, yet...but I am still optimistic...have to wait to candle it once I can get my babies out of there. How long can they stay in the incubator without food/water? I don't want to open it to compromise the two that are still working their way out of there.

It's been between 99 & 100 since I about 6:30 last night when I got it back down. The humidity was at 60% this morning. I have a washcloth in the incubator that I can also add water to with a straw if I need to. Hopefully it's stayed stable all day, but it's "home alone" from about 7:30 when my husband leaves until I get home....any time between 3:30 and 5, depending on what kind of meetings we have after work (I'm a teacher). Fingers are crossed.
