Is there a good reason I should close the access door to the coop at night? My birds are in by dark and don't come out till sun up. The run is attached to the coop and are safe from predators at all times. It is warm here at night with the temps in the lower 60's. They are 10 weeks old. What do you folks think. John

As long as you are sure your run is 100% as pred proof as you can make it, meaning no racoons tearing though chicken wire, no digging under by dogs or coons, or coons learning how to open the run door, (Note I really don't like coons), there is no problem leaving the door open.

What silkiechicken said, and to add: my miniature dachshund tore thru the chicken wire, so if she could, a coon could.
Dog was rehomed, you can't catch a coon that easy.
