Ok, So today is 19 going on 20 they have been in lock down for about 35 and a half hours. Should I be worried if no piping yet? Some people said they would start piping soon after I put them in lockdown. I am just worrying probably to much. I appreciate all the support!
i just did my first lockdown, and let me tell you there is a path worn to the incubator. my eggs did nothing the first day, and 1/2 of the second, then i saw one small pip, then another. today is their actual hatch date and i have 4 out of shell yesterday, and 2 more pips today.
i was told to give them an extra few days afterwards too, in case there are late bloomers.
i was so afraid i had killed everything....(incubator doesn't hold temp) but a very wise friend said mother nature isn't perfect either....and she was right.
good luck on your hatch. i got to see the first one push out of its shell, and it was awesome

How long can you leave the chicks in the bator before absolutely having to remove them? I have read where some do not hatch until day 22, so if you have hatches on day 20, can they stay in there until day 22 without getting too hot?
Ok so to day is hatch day #21. There has still been no signs of piping or anything. Should I start to worry by now, or maybe they are just late bloomers?
