I have had back yard chickens for a few years. I am going to incubate my first batch of eggs tomorrow. It has been so helpful to read your report I think and see the pictures from your hatch. So glad it is going well. I think I will need someone to hold my hand on hatching day also. How are you getting such great pictures? What kind of camera?

Hi Chickenhugger2, I would be honored to hold your hand and by all means let me know if you need anything. This has been such an experience! We still have a few to hatch and are feeling so lucky that everything has gone so well so far. I am definately not an expert but there is alot of info on this site that has helped me. Definately check out the Learning Center for information about incubation and hatching. Good Luck and Happy Hatching!

Thanks for the encouragement and hand holding offer! lol.. I am testing the incubator now to stabilize the temp. I am hopin it is all systems go in a little while. How do I keep track of this thread? I had to go looking for it after I posted a reply.

to keep track of a thread just click "subscribe" and then select when you want to be notified that someone has responded. THe "subscribe" link is at the top AND bottom of the page. I will be posting more pics in a few minutes

I just checked out your web site. Excellent. >Love your photos. No wonder you have such great pics of your peeps.....! I mess with the camera quite a bit , but it's been a long time since I 've had a really good one. I have a powershot rebel right now. Used to have a film slr with interchangeable lenses. Mother's day is coming and i am thinking of begging for a new camera. What do you use? PS thanks for subsdcription hint, and the light turned on in the incubator. I am on the right track!
