Lockdown day!

Today's lockdown.

What I started with:
1 Leghorn
2 Silver-laced Wyandottes
7 Sizzle Silkies
Total: 10

Current:
5 Sizzle Silkies
Total: ... 5

Ended up having to toss all but 5 of the SS eggs, who are in lockdown! I started humidity raising last night since my basement is notorious for stopping that. Woke up this morning at 51%, super glad I started early.

Steady at 69% now!

My bf and I are taking bets on how many are going to hatch.

I say 2, he says 5.

I am optimistic for you. I say 6. Why such low fertility?

Only infertile/clear was the leghorn one. 2 Silkie eggs ended up dead because of the shipping (busted egg yolk and aircell), though I'm unsure why the wyandottes were quitters.

Slightly disappointed at no pips, peeps, or even taps yet.

But could be just wanting the chicks to hatch, since it's only day 19~~

yesterday was lockdown day for me and I'm not sure if their dead or not I hope not though but goodluck on your hatch

Thank you! Hope you have a good hatch as well.

I know that eggs are supposed to start hatching on day 21, but so many stories of them hatching before that makes me wanna go "Come outttt!"

Me too lol my little brother goes to me everyday saying "the baby chickens are gonna hatch in ____ more days" I could tell he is excited but I think I saw a blood ring either that or Im mistaken but they don't smell funny at all so I kept them in there still I just hope they're doing ok
