Lockdown Hatching Completed - NEW PHOTOS ADDED

OMG, too cute! At 12:40 P.M. chick #4 raised its shell's top exposing itself. One of the three fully hatched ones immediately jumped up on the egg carton and ran over to the one that was still in the egg to say hello.

Yard full o' rocks :

If you don't post PIX soon....we're gonna put you up for:

Dishwashing duty,
Dusting,
Mopping,

etc

You just thought folding laundry was bad!!

Nnnnnnnnnnyyyuuunn, but i don't know how to do any of that.

Okay, pictures this afternoon. They ain'ta gonna be much to look at though because they'll be taken through the lid that I can't remove until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.

They're hatching like popcorn!!!

What type are you hatching?

Isn't this only Day 19?

They're bbs Orpingtons, and today is day 21. So far, they're all blue and black.
There are several more eggs with holes punched out, and one of the blue ones is a self-appointed "Welcome Committee of One" that gets up beside each egg that's actually zipping and cheers it on. What a nuisance; it's often sitting on another egg that could start zipping at any time. Not much I can do about that though.

Very cool!! I love blue chickens (not sure why, but I think they are the best). I have BBS rocks and I hatched 10 of 12 shipped eggs. We got 4 blue girls, 3 black girls, 1 splash girl, 1 blue barred roo and 1 solid blue roo. I have kept them all except the Blue Barred roo to breed this next Spring. Girls are about 26 weeks old but no eggs as yet. My blue ones are so neat....their feathers are laced black.

Hope yours "keep on hatchin"....

Speckledhen has a HUGE blue orp roo (suede) that is one of the most magnificent birds I have ever seen. Enormous and beautiful

Anne and I have converted a 12- x24-foot section of our barn into a "breeding" area. We're in the process of developing our own line. I'm hoping to get six top-notch blue hens and a blue rooster by this spring to replace the ones on My Page. You can see my starting stock there. I'm working with three lines now to get to the one line that I will settle for, then I'll get rid of all the others.

Oh, you crack me up! I'm subscribing, waiting for more pictures! LOL
