So I go into lockdown in two days and I was told to put them in egg cartons to hatch... so what excatly do i do? they have been laying on the wire the whole time and i have been handle turning them so any tips would be great!
Thanks

i've hatched both ways. If you do egg cartons, use the paper cartons and cut a hole int eh bottom. Eggs go in pointed end down.

Personally, I found I had less issues of chicks not hatching by just leaving them on the wire.

I use and auto turner, but on day 18 they get laid on their sides in the hatcher.

I hatched chicks last time with half of them in carton and half on the wire floor to see what happened. I use an auto turner just for reference on days 1-18.
All but one in the egg carton hatched.
Only one laid on the wire floor hatched. It also hatched upside down. It pipped the pointed end of the egg. Made it out ok though.
There was 12 total eggs that made it to lockdown out of 14 shipped.
It is all a preference thing. All mine go into the cartons. Some people swear the cartons cause them to lose chicks. Try it both ways and see what happens.
