Thank you! I thought for sure I would be lucky if only 4-5 would hatch. I am still waiting. I have 1 egg zipping, 1 pipping, and 1 that I thought was dead but wasn't wrapped in a damp papertowel, and 1 egg that doesn't show any signs of anything and 19 fully hatched and beautiful chickens.

I have learned a lot doing this. I learned not to put more than 12-18 eggs in, otherwise there isn't any room without having to open the incubator. And I learned do not open the incubator. Most importantly, don't rush them!

Wow, what a fantastic hatch! I'm happy with 75%, but that is awesome. When I first went to lockdown, I thought my 22 eggs were too much. I was worried that the ones that were almost upright wouldn't hatch. Those seem to have been the ones that had the easiest time hatching. I still wouldn't hesitate to load that many again. With me holding the lid, and my wife taking the chicks out, the fluffy evacuation was done in 30 seconds. I like having the extra eggs just to keep the chicks from bulldozing the others

How amazing!!! AND EXCITING! Now I am wondering why my hatch out of 13 eggs only 2 survived. It was my first hatch. I have these cochins which I plan to get a cochin roo this spring!

That is so awesome. I just had #2 hatch. 23 more to go. How long did it take for you little ones to dry? I had one this morning and he still isn't fluffy.

Congrats on #2! It has been taking a few hours on these last few for them to fluff up.

I'm ready for this last one to hatch and dry so I can get the inubator cleaned! Hopefully before bedtime if I can stay up til 10. I don't think I slept much last night.

Today is only day 19 for me. I got up once in the night then up before 6 to check on everyone. I feel my lack of sleep thing will be Friday night. LOL

@!Northern...you earned a good night sleep. Just remember everything you did here that worked well so you can do that next time! Did all your eggs you put in lockdown hatch?

22 did. Including the one I thought was dead. I have one left that just seems a bit weak. Not sure if he/she will be strong enough to finish.
