Also how can you tell if they have mites? They seem to be pecking or picking there feathers but I don't see anything. Are they just picking/plucking feathers out?

Quote: Its so awesome to meet people who don't just talk about making the changes in their lives. Its amazing what one can do when they put their minds to it! Good for you...and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!![]()
Quote: Yes, especially with 6 Roosters!!! LOL
I always put a stick or two as a perch. It is actually good for them to practice using it. It helps their leg muscles and work on their balance!Have a question for anyone willing to answer. Is it ok to put a stick from outside for a roost for the little chicks even being couple days old. Will I be bringing in anything in that can harm them?
Im sure they are just preening their incoming feathers. They will always do this. But they do it much more when they are getting new feathers. Also how can you tell if they have mites? Quote: Let me see what i have...this house we worked on everyday for 6 months before we moved in.
Here is my bantam mobile chicken coop. And the barn that was built in 1900 which is where the ducks sleep in the winter...and where the big chickens coop is.
Outside Before
Inside Before
Somewhat After
I will have to upload new photos from my phone. I have better ones, I will post those.
Great job with that ! Reminds me of my kitchen a bit. I am mid-renovation on it. Thanks for the Birthday wishes! Happy to be here! Love your bantam coop too! Very cute! I have a lot of old barn to renovate to get ready for my Spring chickens. No motivation to work outside. It was ZERO yesterday!Let me see what i have...this house we worked on everyday for 6 months before we moved in.Here is my bantam mobile chicken coop. Here is a video of my chicks doing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StqJJ0oCecY
Also, as I mentioned in the video about sand. You can place a small container...I use a small baking dish, full of some sand and they will take dust baths. They will love it! Dont be alarmed if they eat the sand...it is like grit for baby chicks.
