So right before one of my chickens falls asleep, it like shakes it's head around while it's falling asleep. Almost like penguin walk hut shaking head in that motion. But eats fine and drinks water. What can it be. It stops finally when it decides to drop and lay down and falls asleep. But always shakes head as its falling asleep

I'm sure it is normal. Probably just falling asleep, but trying not to! They are certainly fascinating to watch!

Absolutely...I raised my child as a single mom in a Uniform patrol job. 21 years. I saved 15% for retirement and ate ramen.  Eventually,  I found myself very unhealthy...several disease states in an early stage and decided I needed to make a change in my life or die. Celiac's was one of the main reasons...no gluten, wheat. rye, barley, oats etc...spurs an auto immune attack.  Anyhow, i decided to walk away from the triple figure salary and stress and live life simpler. I bought the nastiest old farmhouse I could find in the best school district...on 14 acres $101K. I traded a few acres for an old barn...and started growing organically. I planted 1800 christmas trees...should be ready for market in 7-9 years. I planted garlic...very easy to grow and will save your health over and over. Now, I choose to raise chickens...not for meat...for their eggs and feed them healthy foods and keep them happy so they will in turn produce some really healthy eggs to feed my family and community etc...

I am 45 tomorrow...and life is the best it has been since i can remember.  Life is so short and so valuable~

Sand from lowes. I saw a bag at home Depot had little rocks didn't think it would be ok. But then again sand has small stuff in it lol idk i will go buy some if you use it and its ok thanks

Well, I am hoping to set my auction eggs tonight. I will move to the FebHal for those.
However, I am getting ready to lockdown my silkie and orpingtons eggs tonight. I
Still have to catalog their weight, candle , and draw their final air sac lines. Can't wait for babies!!!

I just found one of my baby's dead.! I don't know what happened. Was just laying there and was stiff. Not moving, was dead. Could the others had been walking on. I don't know but certainly something I don't want to happen to another one.
