Lockdown in 2 days

But right now the 2 smaller ones are eating on there own. What scares me is them trying to sleep. They always stand and there head falling down seems like they never fully fall asleep, always waking up.

I have one that did that...I named it dozer. He would have a chick on his back every now and then. As far as sleeping...I think they do fall asleep standing. They should be able to sleep tho. Mine sleep most the night...

Thanks Bon...I will. Silkies always challenge me. This is my third silkie hatch. I hope I have the humidity right this time...

Sorry to hear about everyone's chick losses. It's always painful, but that's a part of it. I just look at it as nature's way of culling the weak birds. I only had one die out of my last hatch, and that was the one that I had to help hatch. The other 12 marans and 4 polish are looking very active and healthy. The marans from my own flock look better than any I have ever purchased. I have another batch of the same mix due on Feb.6-7. Only 4 polish set, though. Hopefully they will start laying more when the days get longer. 0 eggs out of 6 hens last week... I haven't candled this set yet because I ordered a real candler, and am waiting until it arrives to try it out. Here is an updated shot of the last hatch. I have recovered the floor in the brooder with linoleum and added 2 inches of shavings since that picture was taken

Well finally when I woke up to go to work they were sleeping fine. Lol had me up at 2 then 4. Well at least they are resting now.

I really need to set my incubator. I kind of left it with soapy water. I know so lazy. I have about 12 or 13 eggs separated from my marans. I should get those going
