Lockdown in 2 days

Thanks Bon...I will. Silkies always challenge me. This is my third silkie hatch. I hope I have the humidity right this time...

Congrats on your little pips! I hatched out some Silkies for the first time this last time. Out of 6, 4 hatched. Are Silkies harder to hatch than other breeds?

Ginger...I am sorry about your order. I had one shipping experience and half were doa. I was so upset. Hang in there and give them some electrolytes and vitamins to kick start their health!

I need to get something to check the accuracy of my incubator. Any suggestions?

I have this one.

acurite 00837 thermometer
I have the Incutherm Digital Thermometer Hygrometer with Min/Max memory. It's sold by the Incubator Warehouse and I ordered it through Amazon. It seems to work very well.

From what I understand, if you open it and any others are pipping it could kill them.  The humidity and temp need to stay constant once they start hatching.

Anyone else with more experience, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks. I hooked up my incubator again and just letting it sit so bit can get to the right temperature.

So I have one who crystal and tries to get underneath some. I put my hand in and hops on and almost automatically stops crying and starts falling asleep. I tried putting a little stuffed animal, the other 3 seem to like it more. It still cry's hopefully will stop soon. Or outgrow it lol. I have 2 that are much smaller than the other 2. Why can it be? They eat and drink water, maybe not as much as the others but they eat a good amount. Can those be females? Males outgrowing them?

Are they all from the same hen and rooster? If not, that could be why they are different...even then...just like our children...they come in all colors shapes and sizes!
The little guy has probably imprinted to you...just calling it's Momma! Hopefully, it's nothing more serious.

Just enjoy the quirky lil chicks!

They are from 2 of my hens. I don't know which egg was from who but same breed and yes same rooster. But seems like it does sleep a bit more now. They love there crumbles with a bit of water and make it mushy.
