Lockdown TODAY! any last minute advice?????

its slowly going up. had to add soaked paper towels in the corners...and my bator has tiny holes on all for courners on the bottom, so until i fingure a way to stop them up, i can't add water to the entire bottom

my father in law just showed me that hes got a hen, that just hatched 5 babies, and has 4 more to go today

how bad is it if it doesn't get to 65-70%?????

I don't know

I was shooting for 65% and ended up at 70. W/ my temp perfect again, I decided to just leave well enough alone. The plastic "walls" are covered in condensation though, hopefully that's not a bad thing

I had to use a soaked papertowel too to get it up and now I'm afraid to take it out b/c it'll probably screw up my temp again!

How tiny are the holes on the bottom? Any air that could be escaping could be making you lose moisture. My thinking was that moisture is heavier than the air, so I tried air sealing from the bottom up. Maybe plug up any hole or vent that is on the side and make one on the top???? (if you got desperate enough)....but that would probably alter your temp too. Hope you get it soon!

So I'm not so much stressing anymore, but so anxious. Two people responded to a post I had about whether still-airs hatch faster b/c you keep them at a higher temp. They answered 'yes', day 19

I keep checking for a pip

If you can get some clean sponges, dampen them and put them in the incubator. They work wonders for your humidity. But you should be okay where your current humidity stands. Much more and they could drown in the eggs; I had that happen to me.

I'm still waiting for pips, but since I had one day of 98 degrees in the 'bator, the chicks might be late.

I have to hold my hands behind my back to keep from opening the incubator.

to everyone!

My 18 eggs went into lock down today as well first time in my new hovabator (my 4th hatch overall), hoping for the best. Humidity about 70% and holding. Best of luck to you. What bator are you using?

woke up this morning w/ the temp at 100 and humidity at 65%. i'm not touching it. 65% will have to do!

day 19....

good luck to everyone

Good luck to all you guys. Hope you have good hatches. I think I've finally managed to get the LG dialed in. Kept wanting to run hot but I've finally gotten it to hold steady at 99 the thermometers. It's so nice being able to look at the Brinsea and not have to do anything other than check the water pot. The LG will have be insane in another two weeks.

my humidity was too! I think it's the perfect medium IMO. I'm scared to have it be lower, and I'm scared to have them drown too. Are you hearing any peeping or seeing any rocking/rolling? I'm not...yet
