I woke up this morning and checked my lockdown incubator which has eggs that were just moved from the turner, which is now housing its third clutch of eggs and has held perfect temps. Well, this morning it was at 102F/65%. I opened the lid (I know, I know), replenished the water reservoirs, and checked the eggs with IR until they cooled to 100F. It looks like I lost 2/3 of my set, the blood vessels look dark and there is no movement. :-(

On top of that, the poult that has been struggling since Monday died. Her brother is in fine shape, and growing like crazy.

Today was a sad day.

Hi there, don't give up yet! Only an internal temp of 104F kill chicks... and it can take a while for the internal temp to reflect incubator temp. 102 is fine and 65% is fine. they are chicken eggs right? what day are they? sometimes right before hatching they get very still. they are resting and growing, they will need their energy. I would not count these eggs out yet

I try to drop temp by half a degree from 99.5 to 99 for lockdown (forced air)... from 101 to 100.5 in still air. up to 102 is tolerated in still-air.

Thank you VERY much...I was afraid that I had cooked them. The AccuTemp has a one day memory, so I know that the temp did not exceed 102 at any time. They are turkey eggs, but other than the 28 day cycle they should develop the same.

The turner incubator is 99 and forced air. I have had the still air lockdown incubator at 99, so I will bump it up a degree.

Shining my super bright light through the foam incubator doesn't show any internal pips yet, but I did expect them to be a little late thanks to a power outage during incubation.
