Lockdown!

Most of these eggs have Buckeye mothers. Fathers are either ((JGXRIR)xRIR) or ((BielxBA)x(JGxRIR)). Most likely the JG back-cross, but the other is possible. Any barred chicks are the Biel cross.

Last minute I stuck some green eggs in there. No real reason, just because.

Dry hatch, and I did not candle at lockdown.

One hatched, four pipped.

Three hatched, one zipping, at least 5 more pipped.

And of course the power goes out. 8 hatched, unknown number pipped. I put everyone already hatched in the brooder where they can theoretically keep each other warm(er) if the power goes out overnight.

3 hatched overnight and one so far this morning. One is zipping, and 3 have pipped. Pictures later.

I thought they were all done, then realized one was pipped with no activity. The membrane under the pip was intact so I snipped it, and the baby started cheeping!

This morning we have one more to add to the total. The black one.
