Lockdown!

Don't worry! They will hatch. As of this morning, before I left for work, three more had pipped, but the original pipper had made minimal progress (externally). My kids are in for a treat today...but other hatches have come late for me. I worry more if they hatch early than if they hatch late

But I will post pics as soon as I have some...

My little eggs are not due until tomorrow. I have one pip now. So of course I am worried, if one is pipping, why aren't they all pipping?

I am expecting the hatch to take through the weekend for all 20 eggs. I wouldn't worry that only one is pipping

Well, the one that pipped is out! He didn't take 10 minutes from pip to hatch. Now he is looking around all curious like.

So I will take this as a good omen.

I got a call from home and two chicks had hatched sometime between when I left for work and when my kids got up. My son informed me that one more was on his way out and that the hatched ones were black (so they are probably from shipped eggs). I CAN'T WAIT TO GO HOME!!!!

I do not work outside the home. And now I don't work inside the home. I just sit and watch eggs and type little notes on the BYC forum.

Another one of the RIR's that survived the power outage is HATCHING.

Wow.

I just love hatching time!!! Y'all have to post pictures just as soon as they have fluffed you know! You have the heavy burden of encouraging the rest of us with pictures of your hatch! So, get those cameras out and get busy!!!

You guys won't believe the crazy dreams I had last night...Instead of us all being here online, we all had our eggs in a huge barn so we could see everyone's hatching at the same time. I went to check on mine and 4 had hatched but 2 of them were missing, then I found a fox, that had gotten my chicks and a few other eggs in the barn so my DH got his gun and took the fox outback and got rid of it. My eggs were hatching so fast I didn't even have time to get the video camera (must have been thinking of you Iggimom on this one

) Then the last 2 hatched, they turned out to be guineas ??? and started flying around with Tinkerbell:lau because I guess in my dreams guineas like fairies

I told this dream to my DH right before he left for work...he left the room saying "OOOOkkkaaaayyyy, I'm just going to leave you alone now crazy chicken lady" and closed the door, lol!!! Wow, I really hope these little guys do something today, I can't take another night of those dreams, hahaha!

Good job slackwater and Iggimom on your new babies, I'm really happy for you two. Enojoy them

and thanks for all the support. Still no pips, I swear I saw the #2 egg move last night but I was starring so hard at them I think my eyes are crossing,

so probably not. I'm going to go shopping to get my mind off of them (well, I'll still be thinking about them) and give them more time

Okay, 10 are out, 1 more is unzipping, and at least 3 more have pipped. Of the 10, 2 are RIRs (so, my home-growns) and the other 8 are JGs (shipped). The JGs are a splash - so they could be black, splash or blue - but they all appear black, with some silvery-fluff. If they were blue (what I'm going for), would they appear more "gray" as freshly hatched chicks? Or is it too soon to tell?
