locking hens in for winter.

well actually im thinking of buying big feeders because my uncle looks after my hens in the winter as he lives closer and i only see them one a week to clean them out and he gives them a handful to 12 and i get really mad because the ones at the bottom of the pecking order will get no food, because what lasts me a week lasts him a month and i dont like it
 
Have you thought about the water situation? I don't have electricity run to my coop so I have to give them fresh water at least once a day because it freezes.
 
well then..I think that covers it, as long as they have plenty of room inside, things to entertain themselves, adequate food and fresh water and...get some fresh air when the weather permits. I am assuming that the coop is as predator proof as you can make it???
