This may have been suggested before, I don't know. Just this morning I saw an old thread from 2007 that was "revived". It wasn't even a question....it was talking about an auction that was going on on another site. Would it be possible to automatically lock threads after a certain length of time?

There are some old threads that we're okay with member resurrecting (some oldies have timeless information and additional follow up may be perfect).

With that said, we do find the occasional old BST thread or random question thread that is dug up. In those cases, Terrie is correct, just hit the report button and let us know. We'll remove the post and possibly lock it.

We're also thinking about "archiving" (locking) all the threads older than a year that have 2 and fewer replies.

There was a request a few days go to take time to answer the unanswered posts. I did a few of them that I could since I'm new to this and have more Qs than As myself.
It got me to thinking, how do messages get deleted if the OP doesn't do it? There were lots of old auctions, etc that aren't relevant anymore.

locking sounds like it needs to be patrolled more often i look for things that are of importance (with out search ) and i cant find nothing and when i search i find the information on a thread with 150 posts i think we need to be more strict on locking and having mods making people start new threads i see questions being answered in old post that have 150 posts in them already when the logical thing to do is start new ones when i find a thread that has information i need i have to search like 10 pages b4 i find what i need i dont know if im just being picky but i just needed to say this to see if im not the only one ranting
