Make sure Lola is protected from predators because shes a target, molting chickens are the slowest. I lost my Australorp hen while she was molting to a bobcat. I caught the bobcat red handed, and when I felt the Australorp "Honk" i felt her heart beat at least one last time I thought, she was still very warm. Darn my timing. So keep a eye out for predators.![]()
Oh definitley! She's been upstairs in my spare bathroom since last week. I only brought her out today to see how she's walking...can't get her to walk for me inside. She was so happy to see her girls...except Thelma who of course had to assert herself...but Lola stood her ground and Thelma backed off. I put her in the totally enclosed run today thinking, it's actually up to 50 degrees and sun...then I talked to the vet who said put her back in the house and keep her there till she is better. If she has Mereks or something catchy we want to keep it contained. So, that's what I'm doing. That and holding my breath....

How did you get the bird back from the bobcat? You are one brave chickipoo!
