Lone Chick help please.

i would think that only the chick starter moistened with a little of the warm sugar water would be all she would need, and they do love it like that. also, do you pick the food up in your fingers and let it fall down in little pieces in front of her face? they are attracted to it like that. they think you are mom eating and then they want some.

I tried that, no attention to the food, only to me, will take it from a medicine syringe pecking at the end but not from its bowl or the ground.

Chickens love to look at them selves in the mirror! Try that. I had to bring one of my chickens into the house for a couple weeks...she had something stuck in her throat..once she was a little better she would spend her days staring, talking and grooming her self in the mirror.

I tried the mirror trick again, the moment it looked behind the mirror to not find another bird it lost all interest.

It is eating from a spoon sometimes but no pecking at the food when it's in a bird trough.

Maybe hang the mirror so it can't get behind it?
Hopefully you can transition it from spoon to feeder...once it's easting from the spoon regularly, put the spoon in the feeder.

In all honestly I have no idea what a crop or a craw is but I see her eating the persimmon and corn mush I made but she's ignoring chick crumb entirely, I think I have a little madam on my hands.

hahaha, yes you do!! its her double chin!lol it is where they store their food and its just under her throat. it will be flat if nothing in it. hers is obviously sticking out. you can feel it and the food too.
