Of my five Appleyards, four hens and a drake, I have one hen that likes to be by herself. She will swim with the flock in the pond then all of a sudden I find her on the opposite shore. Watching the flock swim I don't see any aggression for the other ducks. She does come when I call them for mealworms and gets along with the rest of the ducks for the most part. She does pick on the older hen every now and then, and was pecked by the drake almost to say stop messing around.

Like I said she eats with the rest of the flock, and goes in at night with the rest of the flock without any trouble. She is one of the three young ones I acquired in December.

Just now, she was quacking and the rest of the ducks swam over and now they are a group again.

Any thoughts?

I've got runners and one of my little girls, Spot, is like that too. She always has been. If there is a duck separate from everyone else in the run it's most likely her. But, she's the one who hangs back every night so I can pick her up and sit with her so don't worry, it's probably just fine.
