A mirror can help (taped securely on the brooder wall at floor level) and a clock that ticks outside the brooder against the wall - then I would try to find keets or chicks if no keets can be found. Best wishes!

Am I helping it to not feel so lonely by holding it, or is it possible I am stressing it more and endangering it?

My lone keet wanted to be around me all the time and would sleep on my shoulder under my long hair. From my experience it stressed out my keet not to be held.

I mentioned in my previous post to you that my circumstances were different. For one thing my keet was lame in its legs for the first three days that it was with me, so I tied a scarf around my neck and used it as a sort of cradle for it. I carried it around with me wherever I went with its head sticking out from the folds of my scarf. This calmed the little keet down to be near me all the time.

Once it was able to walk, it pretty much followed me wherever I went. When I sat down it wanted to be on my shoulder. Before it learnt to fly, it would ask to be picked up.

Sitting with the keet on my shoulder. I must say that the little thing was very good about not pooping in my hair, although it would scratch at it and leave a few knots.

Guinea Fowl are flock birds; and until you can increase your keet's flock (with its own kind by one way or another), you are its flock.
