Does anyone know if seramas can be happy without a flock to be in? Do they need companions?

The hen would "make do", but probably would not feel fully content without at least one chicken companion. Chickens derive their sense of security from being in proximity to others of their species, just as we do.

How old is this hen? Age determines how quickly and easily they adjust to having a new companion.

Chickens are flock Birds so do enjoy other Chickens. A mirror or a couple where she is will keep her company. Not sure why your asking?

She's with her partner right now, a gorgeous roo. But I also have small children. I was thinking about re-homing him or moving him to a child free area, and then getting her a friend. So I wasnt sure, could she be happy by herself in her little penthouse or would she need companionship. She's used to him being there though, and he hasnt shown any real aggression (he's 5 months now), he has bit me and my daughter but that was once in 5 months. So its a tough situation to make these decisions. I think I'm going to keep her and her partner together and see how it plays out as they age. I'm not breeding them but they've been inseparable since I hatched them (not related, separate hatches).

SHe's 4 months. I do have her with her partner and they are almost inseparable. I think I'm going to keep them together for now.
