We have a 3 week old freedom ranger chick who has acquired an injury near the base of her tail that the other chicks love to peck at. I cleaned the wound with a warm damp paper towel and she has been separated into a temporary sick bay brooder, so she can heal sans the other meaties tormenting her. But she looks to be incredibly lonely. I took her upstairs to observe her as it heals, but im wondering if she would do better if I moved her back near the other chicks so she can hear them, or would that just stress her more? Is there any other way to kick the loneliness? I played some chick sounds on my phone to her and she calmed down for awhile. She is currently quietly sleeping but being a first time chick(en) parent, im awfully paranoid that there is something more that I could be doing to help her. Any suggestions would be VERY welcome.

when my broiler hen got her tail pecked off i brought her inside with one chick who was at the lowest of the pecking order. look for smaller, less aggressive chicks. that quiets them and makes them happy. make sure it doesnt peck at her tail
