Lonely chick,can a chick be by itself for a few days

hey so I’m on Wednesday evening and 1 out of 3 older eggs is hatching the other 7 eggs are hatching in 4 days but because this egg is 3 days late I presume the same for The others so there will be a 4 day gab between them will it be ok on it’s own for that long any tips

I would recommend putting a small mirror and a stuffed animal in with the first chick until you put the others in. It will keep it company.
When putting chicks together, chicks over a week old should not be put with chicks a few days old.

I think if the brooding space is large enough, most breeds will be OK with as much as 3 or 4 weeks difference as long as they just aren't baby chicks. Once the chicks have good mobility like at 3 days, they are fine.
I've had 4 week olds with 5 day olds.
I've also put a 8 week old cockerel with 4 day old chicks. The cockerel had been raised alone and at first was freaked out by his new housemates. It wasn't long before he started mothering the chicks and would attack me if I got close to the chicks.
I guess he was thrilled to finally have friends.

I agree. I meant that you shouldn't put older chicks with very young chicks, such as 1 or 2 day olds.

I'm currently I that same position, weather being what it is we've got a six week old rooster in with 3 week, 2 week and 1 week old chicks, 7 birds total. They all get along fine until one of them gets near his mirror, that's his spot..... vain bird I guess, but he's a pretty good mother to them all and doesn't attack any of them.
