In the Brooder
Kids, I have found your solution. Mom says you can only have one? Well tell her your friend on BYC said that that is a terrible idea. Why? Because chickens are social at birth, and they need companionship. When Einstein, my day old (as of 8/13/16) Araucauna was born*, she was very lonely. She would sit in a corner, all scruffed up, and cry. The next day, the second chick came along. Einstein fell in love with her new companion. Every time one is removed from the brooder, the other cries and cries and cries and cries! That is why you should always keep two together.
Now, the reason I kept this short is because I was hoping some others would add on to my statement and support my idea.
Please do so!
* - Can that be considered correct?
