Thanks for your input. We are currently working on the new doghouse and have been spending a good deal of time with Scrounge. He seems to be settling in again.

I think 1 or 2 maybe if he is good on a leash you could start going to state parks together, hiking, going to pet stores etc, to spend more time with him

Update, Scrounge is doing well. We built him a summer doghouse that sits right outside the window. Additionally with the weather warming, we are able to spend more time with him. He seems content again.
