Lonely Duck

I bought one duck and didn't get it a friend. This was the last one. I am still up because it won't stop cheeping. I can't be with it all of the time. What can I do to stop it?

I am sorry. I have heard of using a mirrow and a stuffed animal. I have no idea if it works but it is worth a try. Have you tried Craig's list? In my area Socal is selling ducks close to me but the feed stores don't carry ducks.

Be with him as much as you can. Aside from the fact that it'll make him happy, it's also the only way he'll form a bond with you. When you can't be there, make sure to give him some toys and a mirror that he won't be able to break. He'll probably talk to his reflection and cuddle with the toys.

When whereever you got him from gets more next week, go get another.

If you can't get another duck then try a stuffed animal. My mallard mix cried and cried whenever we left the room. I tried putting a sock monkey in the cage and now I can't take the sock monkey out without my duck going ballistic. I introduced a new stuffed animal by leaving it just outside of the cage for a day before I moved it in.
