I have my brooders set up in my chickens coop as well and I have a lone duckling that was hatched and raised with the chicks . my duck pen is attached to the back of the chicken coop and I have a window between the two in the coop . I have a transition duck Miss Wonky that has messed up legs ( she's wobbly) and I use her to help ducklings transition to the big ducks. I have her in the chicken coop and her and Ducky sit in the window and talk to the other ducks at night and when Ducky is bigger her and Miss Wonky will go together into the big duck yard for a few days, and once Ducky is integrated I will put Miss Wonky back in the coop where she chats with her flock thru the window until more ducklings hatch and need someone to show them how to be ducks. Miss Wonky is my special girl. She can't stay with the other ducks very long cause they knock her over and if they splash enough water out of the pool she can't get out...
