Thank you so much! You sound like such a lovely chicken Mama!
Seeing her alone yesterday was tough. But, probably harder on me than her. I couldn’t bare the thought of her dustbathing and freeranging alone and not having her friend. Today, was a better day. She spent the morning inside with me and my pups, we weeded and of course she helped with the bugs, now she’s laying under the banana tree. She will continue to sleep inside in their “hospital” crate at night. She’s been sleeping there for a couple months with Rizzo, bc I didn’t want them seperated. She does ok inside, but def gets over it and loudly announces she wants to go back out. I will just let her do her thing and we will adjust to this new life together. It’s hurt more to think of rehoming her, than picturing her without her friend. So I think it’s best for her to stay with me. She is so loved and gets along with both my dogs and cats. She will be ok and I will continue to spoil and love on her. I have looked into chicken diapers and plan to purchase a few. I am a huge neat freak, so that’s been a concern. If I can get these diapers to work, it will be life changing! Thank you ladies for your time, help, and advice! It’s so refreshing meeting fellow chicken mommas who are as obsessed with their girls as me! Wish you the best with your girl as well!
Ps. WOW!!! 8 yrs old! That’s amazing!
