Lonely Pigeon question... semi-urgent

Hello, you may have read my other post on the matter but i have a more spicific question. I have two male pigeons (mix up with the breader) and one has gone missing. hes been gone for 3 and a half days. Dale, (the pigeon left behind) is looking quite lonley, and is looking every where for his friend lucky. my question is, how long should i wait for Lucky to come back before i get another friend for Dale? also, should i keep Dale in their loft and aviary while i'm waiting so he doesn't fly off himself looking for company?

He's probably not coming back,but it's still possible.I would get him another friend.
