Loner chicken laying soft eggs

Hi,

I am writing this on behalf of my dad, he has 6 chickens, all just coming into lay. The Maran started laying about 3 weeks ago but only lays soft eggs, they have plenty of grit and oyster shell, + ground up egg shells now and then. She was the dominant hen until her laying issues started, now she seems to keep herself seperate from the group, she also seems under the weather for a few hours, lays a soft egg and then a few hours later seems ok but still not her old self.
She must be about 3-4months old. Is this normal? Is there anything we can do?

You may want to try calcium. Try checking for other symptoms of sickness if not getting back to herself.

thanks for the advice, we have given her calcium, she seems fine other than the soft eggs and being a bit of a loner. will keep an eye on her.
