Hello I purchased four ducklings about two weeks ago. 2 Pekins and 2 Rouens. Two things I'm wondering... First can I switch to pine shavings yet, I have been using the black landscaping sheets. Second, I have one Pekin who is almost always off on own in tote and very loud when I remove to change bedding. When I first had them this ducking wad coming on food ans we had to work for quite a while to help get the food down. Do you think that traumatized the duck or could it be that it is one breed while the other 3 are a different breed?

I read to massage the neck, so I did that several times and we kept trying to give it water.
They are very lively otherwise and she/he seems to be healthy other than not eating as much and keeping to self a lot.

It's very hard to interpret your text. I'm not sure what you are asking?

Maybe feed them a soupy mix of their crumbles using warm water. Are you feeding crumbles? I am not sure what can be going on with it isolating itself they usually can’t start to be separated from each other. Do they always have water to drink when eating and can they dunk their heads in it?
