PCOS is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Means you get re-occuring cysts on you ovaries, unbalanced/fluctuating hormones (too much androgen), so extra weight around the middle, facial hair
, and mood swings. Plus the hormones can cause insulin resistance.. which is what I'm thinking was making me feel so yucky last month.
But if the hormones get under control with meds, the insulin should resolve itself, supposedly.
It kept saying that in using the Metformin for this purpose, it helps patients loose weight
since its working against those yucky hormones... but I dunno then.. what have other people used it for that you know? I dont want to get fatter!

Ohh i had one of those, he was red and 'the crowned' typed.. he danced to rock music, i would put it on the stero and he would start shimmying and shaking side to side
The metformin also helps your cells be more open to receive the insulin your body is producing reducing the amount your body makes, Squishy, have you had a Glucose tolerance test to check for Insulin resistance?
I'm pretty much positive for everything, hormones, insulin resistance, cystic patterns.
I don't know what they used it for, but at my other job there's several of the women that talk about it.
They complain about how it causes them to be hot all the time and they gain weight and sometimes thirsty.
This is going to be a weird question...
But does the facial hair just get dark, or does it actually grow longer?
My sister had to wax her lower chin (neck basically) all the time. Well, not all the time.
It would get to be at least an inch long if she didn't.

and i swear the blue one i had, was epileptic..
I've never had one before, but Squishy is sending me one.
I'm so excited!

Oh Danielle, thats great that your test came back fine.. I was wondering how it went.
No, I haven't had the glucose test done yet.
I was originally diagnosed 5 years ago.. and I was supposed to do more tests... but I was younger and didn't want to... LOL.
Now that I looked up some of the symptoms of the insulin resistance I saw that may be the reason I was feeling so poorly some time ago... but I feel better now, of course, it's a different time in my cycle though.
