sounds like yours needs more of a clean than mine, mine only has a nest box on it.. and a chicken feed bag.. and the grill plate needs a clean lol

Well, I guess that's the freshest way to get the eggs on the barbie

Our chicken feed bag would probably break a hole in the BBQ if we put it on top.
It's one of those 53kg ones

It's... ah, something like White Hen, I can't remember. I never pay attention to this stuff

Mine are. The winter seems to be prime time for our sex-links, the eggs get bigger and they get tastier. Tempting us, eh?

Ohhhhhh Red hen! That's what i use, the red hen free range layer mix, because mine refuse to eat pellets

not even the micro pellets in the normal red hen layer.
Mine aren't exactly the laying type lol they are Pekins (cochin Bantams) and they only really lay throughout spring and summer, when they aren't being broody

hey, we have a redhen on this forum

We've got the mix where there are seeds and corn as well as some pellets in there: it's really good, they've never complained about the food once since we switched, and have been eating more than ever!

(Yeah, it took us a bit of experimenting to get something that they'd like, they hated the pellets too, and we'd have to soak the things in water during summer if we wanted to get them to eat

)

Especially pigeons.
The chickens seem to like pigeons, they'll let them eat the food.

I really like him. He comes up to my side of the tank when I go up to him.

The current doesn't seem to bother him at all. I haven't put the sponge in it yet either.
Mainly because I don't have one..

I assume he ate all the food I gave him earlier, along with Norman..

I fed him again a second ago and I watched him suck the food in his mouth then after a few he opened his mouth and spit it all out!
Then he found another piece and did it again.
Is that just something they do?

Oh, and my actual plant has the bottom under the rocks, and I just let the bulb thing float, just like the directions said.

The shell looked just like a tiny snail shell. Had the opening and everything..
Never even noticed it until today.

Maybe I can find it and get it out tomorrow and show you a picture.
