Long Distance Friendships :-(

Well, I'm home.
Working over 9 hours last night put me in an 'I will kill you if you talk to me' kind of mood today at work.
I was too tired and didn't feel good.
Several customers probably wished they hadn't gotten crappy with me on the phone.

But, I did get a free order of breadsticks.

Now I'm eating Subway.

Not only that, when I got there the shift lead was like, "ready to close again tonight?"

Apparently he was kidding, but I wasn't too happy at first.
He definitely hurried and told me it was a joke once he saw my face.

Hi

Do you get free stuff from your work?

I don't think I ever claimed anything from my month of $20-for-eight-hours in the shop besies a giant bubble blower

(Boss found it without a tag)

No, and they weren't technically free either.
We ordered food from there last week sometime and when we got home we were missing an order of breadsticks.
I had paid for them, so I let them know about it and they said they'd get them to me when I wanted them.
So I took them tonight.

Sometimes if there's an extra something made or something is made wrong you can have it for free or buy it.
Just depends on who's working and such.

I've gotten breadsticks free before.

Oh well, at least you got them back! I can't say the same about some of the things I've lent out of have been owed

Subway is amazing. I love the cheese and herb loaves

At least you can get to chillin' after your 9 hour shift! I bet that was hard.

How does closing up work for you? All I really had to do was pull in the display racks outside and turn off the air con, it wasn't that bad.

When I get thirsty, I grab the entire water box, take it wherever I am and drink straight out of it.

It sure beats getting up to refill the glass

I had mentioned my horrible night a while back. Lol.

Yes, everything and I mean EVERYTHING had to be cleaned.
Dishes had to be done, floors swept and mopped, everything washed and sanitized, etc..
A man ordered a pizza literally three minutes before we closed.
Not only that everyone got sent home, except for the closer people at 8:30pm, so I had to run the whole kitchen alone for most of the night.

It was horrible.

Wow, that sucks

I hope you never have to go through that on your own again!

I feel you about having to run the place alone, by the way. Boss was out goodness knows where... he told me he'd be back at one, he didn't arrive back until three: I'd had no toilet break, nothing to eat... heck, that was hard. Not to mention the air con had broken down and it was maybe 40 degrees outside!

Here's to bad work conditions. *raises glass*
How are things elsewhere?

Me too. I was pretty upset about it. Especially because I haven't worked there for very long.

What would've happened if I had a question or something?

We have no air conditioning, so it's always a million degrees in there.
Good thing is that I don't mind the heat.

Everyone else is complaining, sweating and such and I'm like, "aaaahhh, this is so nice"

Eh, things are alright.
My side/lower back has been aching for a couple days..
But other than that everything is good.

My chickens are still little piggies. I put one of Butterball's eggs in the Silkie crate I gave them so they'll know where I want them to lay.
Instead they freaked out and fought over it for a while.
lol.png

It was pretty cute. They kept pushing it under themselves, then the other would chase it away, then it would do the same thing.
Apparently they finally left it alone and it's just sitting out there.
Maybe they'll lay in the crate I gave them now.

Monty is still an attention-seeking-always-jealous-of-Leroy fishie.
Leroy is still always just cruising around.
I took the other snail out of the tank yesterday. I'm pretty sure he was dead.
If not.. he is now.
