Long Distance Friendships :-(

I want a Kindle. Keep talking myself out of getting one though.

Well.... Don't!

You should get one!

They went down to $114!

I know... it's harder when you actually *earn* your money
sad.png

Lol. I don't care to spend my hard earned money.
I just always have somewhere it needs to go before I get it.

I'm now almost out of chicken feed.. and I'm broke.

Don't you just love how it seems like I'm always on here?
You reply and I get an e-mail and almost immediately (if I'm awake) I get on BYC from my phone to reply.

I have no life..

Email?
We get emails when someone replies? Hey, that's pretty cool. I didn't know you could do that!

In response to the Kindle... my eyes get sore when I try to read anything of length on a screen. Even a Wikipedia article has them sore and watery, I'm not sure why
hmm.png
I still do prefer books of the paper sort
lol.png

Talking of books, I bought two just then from a closing down store: 75% off in total.

I have actually considered buying a heap of them just to sell later for a profit after I've read them
lol.png

Yeah, just subscribe to the topic and you'll get an e-mail whenever someone replies.
Pretty cool.

Real books make me sleepy. Lol
I read stuff on my phone all the time, so I think I'd like a Kindle.

Ah, so that's where all those emails were coming from... I must've subscribed to one of the big chat threads: I had about 500 new emails in the one day o_O I deleted them all without looking though, I though it was spam
lol.png

I find reading when I'm listening to music helps keep me awake and occupied. And I try to stay away from novels with extra flowery, fancy long paragraphs

You go on BYC from your phone, don't you? Yes, you'd like one of those, I'm sure
tongue.png

I have no life either, I've been spending days on the virtual stock market spending fake money

Well I can NEVER go to sleep if I have something interesting to read in front of me

Thats the number one reason my sleeping schedule fluctuates so wildly.

Actually... the Kindle screen is not illuminated. Its not like a normal electronic device screen... it uses a special ink and moves it into place to form the words when you flip the page.. only it does it so fast you cant see the ink moving. So the background is whitish.. but theres no light coming from it. Especially with my Kindle cover now.. As soon as I get 'into' a book I find myself forgetting its not a paper book
lol.png

So Danille.. if you like the background illimunation you might prefer one of the other kinds of ereaders...

Thankfully, I have a fair bit of self-restraint. I panic if I don't get enough sleep (I'm never going to go to a nightclub in my life, am I?

) so if it gets past a certain point I know to put the book down or I will be up in a sweat for the rest of the night
lol.png
That point is usually 11:45PM.

Oh, that's good. Sounds like a pretty high-tech device. Although if the books do cost more than paper versions, I'm not sure... I might consider in the future, but I'm still a bit short on money.
lol.png
I'm setting up an account online now which will give me 5.5% interest. I'm willing to do anything to get a few extra dollars

Oy! I made the mistake of subscribing to a topic or two... and the emails never end till you go back and un-subscribe.

I don't subscibe here... I just check back every half hour when I'm using the computer
tongue.png

So.. I put my notebook to good use before... and I started working on the outline for my novel

I've been thinking of this one for a long time.. but the problem is, I'm too fickle. I'm constantly coming up with new, brilliant ideas and it's hard to choose between such brilliance
