Long Distance Friendships :-(

I only got back to 'Wheres Rebecca when you need her?' .. Here I am... I'll go see what else you were talking about

Why do you want another tank so soon?

Are you becoming addicted?

Or are you just worried about Monty? I think he is absolutely fine in a 1 gallon. You would notice in larger sizes the boys dont always get the full advantage of it because they'll stick to their certain area more than using the whole thing very much. They do swim around.. just later tend to mark off an area as their 'spot' and hang around there. It does help with water quality to have them in a larger size though... but you can rememdy that with regular water changes.

Anyway... The heater should be OK for 4 gallons or so. If your buying stuff, you should get a stick on thermometer to check and see what the temp is staying at. Dont go buy any ole heater if you decide you need a new one

Because some are poo poo.. I'll help you pick

The tank you linked to.. Walmart one... that one looks decent. Its 5 gallons though... so you *know* you are going to have to devide it and get another fishie, right?
lol.png

I'll look a bit more for you on Fosters and SMith and see if theres anything that looks good

Oh.. Nicola.. The only thing I dont like about the Bi-orb and some of those tanks is that they only have an under-gravel filter. If your going to spend money like that on a tank, it ought to have chemical filtration as well. Plus the air pumps are annoying (at least to me) if the tanks in your room and your trying to sleep

Well, I went and looked at some tanks.
And I think I'm going to end up getting a ten gallon tank..

I might get him a castle or something.

And yeah, I was thinking about maybe getting a couple more..
You know.. so he doesn't get lonely..

I definitely will have to get another heater though.
I found one just like yours that was for 2-15 gallons.

Oh, and I bought a little net thingy.

And some meatballs for some sketti!

If your going to get a heater for a larger tank size... it HAS to be either a Jager or Stealth heater. Stealth is my favorite but they are under recall (not giving mine up! Its silly!

) so Jagers are the ones Im getting now.

Why? Because the others made for large tanks are peices of dung. We went through 3 other brands that none of the lasted more than a month

sorry gotta stick my nose in here
lol.png
arrrgh..why a 10 gallon? and if you are getting more bettas don't risk Monty's life getting a pet store one. and .....dividers......the store bought ones do not work! the bettas can squeeze past the teeniest gap (just ask Squishy) and have to hand made (by me LOLOL) this is me running around in a panic
wee.gif

Erm....
You could try them if you want to
hu.gif

I'd go with the latter one... so you can up the temp to 80 - 82.

Make sure you get a thermometer though... so you can keep an eye on the temp. They make those little sticky thermometers you put on the outside of your tank and i think they look better then the mercury-type ones.. $2.

The tank looks fine to me
big_smile.png
But while you're there.. check out the specs and get a different light bulb that works for the hood... you dont want that silly incandescent light bulb.. it will put out a lot of heat which will make the temp fluctuate if its on or off.. and the plants and fishies prefer a proper bulb... like those 'grow light' ones... forget what they're called :p but they should be right there in walmart next to the tank decorations area.

DONT use their water conditioner or food.. EVER!

Good girl!

^ What she said ^

But.... if you want to wait and find fishies off Aquabid to go in your tank... that would be safer for him... and we might be able to bug bug mom into making you a devider
