I'm new here and just using the template questions for a quick intro. 
(1) I've been raising chickens for over 30 years. When my husband and I were first married we lived just outside the city limits and I wanted chickens so we converted an old shed into my first chicken coop.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 27
(3) What breeds do you have? 8 Dark Brahma hens and a roo, 12 barnyard mix layers and a roo, 2 Dark Brahma chicks and 4 Speckled Sussex pullets.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? All the eggs, and watching broody hens raise their clutches.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I also have 2 dairy cows and a garden. I like to run, read, and sometimes crochet, knit or cross-stitch. Oh also baking and preserving food.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Our family lives on a mini-farm of 6 acres in the middle of wheat and cattle country. We have 6 children and 3 grandchildren and mostly love spending time with our family and working around our place.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I recently had problems with a hatch I had in the incubator. 
Every time I Googled something I ended up here. It's been a long time since I was a member of an online forum and I'm planning to expand my chicken operation into a sideline business and this seems like a fun and informative place to hang out.
