Greetings all!

I have used this site and the forums to answer questions for years and finally decided to register.

We have a small, 7 acre farm in Ashtabula County Ohio that we call Non Sequitur Farm. We keep goats, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. We have 2 Khaki Campbells, 2 Indian Runners, 1 Black Cuyuga and 1 Muscovy in our duck flock.

As for chickens, we have anywhere from 35 to 50 chickens at any given time. We are vegetarian so we only eat the eggs. We have five broody mama hens who do a fabulous job year after year of hatching out between 12 and 24 peeps. They are truly free range wandering our property as well as the adjacent hundreds of acres of fields and all a "muddy" mix of breeds.

So howdy from extreme northeast Ohio!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Sounds like you have quite the flock! That's a lot of lovely birds! I bet you get tons and tons of eggs each day. What breeds of chickens do you keep? Do you have a favorite? I love buff orpingtons personally! They are so affectionate, friendly, make great mamas and produce lots of eggs.

I hope you are enjoying your poultry adventure! Have you checked out our learning center yet? Tons of helpful info there! https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Feel free to ask any questions. Glad you joined.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Ashtabula brought back memories of one of my dogs finishing his championship at the Ashtabula Kennel Club show ( back in late 60's. Also remember the Licking River Kc and Mad River Valley KC. Had good friends in Wadsworth, Ohio. Boy, am I old!

Hope you will enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do.
