Hello all,
I have been using BYC for a while and decided to finally join the forum today to ask advice on a turkey issue.
On to about me:
I have been around chickens my whole life but I have been raising and keeping a flock for the last 6 years.
I currently have 97 chickens, I also have 2 turkeys, 8 ducks, 2 geese, 15 guineas and 3 peafowl.
I have a mix of breeds, they are mainly marans, jersey giants, and Rhode Island whites. I have a few Easter eggers because I really like the green eggs.
I love everything about having chickens, I love their personalities.
My favorite aspect of raising chickens is always having fresh eggs.
I also have dorper sheep and nubian goats. I have been making cheese with my goat milk and I want to start making soap. We also have bees.
My husband and I are not your typical farmers. We started mostly for tax reasons and just grew to love it. He is an RN and I am a high school teacher. We are both in our mid 40s and do not have children, not by choice but because God decided that it was not for us, I guess, but will adopt soon, Lord willing. In the meantime all the animals get all of my love and attention.
