thanks! and, well, in his defense, the rooster does protect his ladies from the occasional hawk and we have had no issues with any other predator--yet.

just as an FYI...the big Australorp has laid 4 days in a row now! Actually, all of my 5 of ladies have laid 4 days in a row! of course, today I dropped one and broke it, but I will not hold that against them!
