This is good to know that the squirt bottle will work on the pigs. Stormy isn't misbehaving so to speak. Like tonight when the one dog got her carrot she head butted her but then she walked into the next room and head butted two other dogs and they hadn't done anything to her. Of course they were standing about two feet from her food bowl. Maybe that is why. Some of my dogs just get out of her way when they see her coming. I feel like she is going to be a handful. Actually that is why I named her Stormy at just 7 days old. She was like a storm coming into the house.

Hilda is just beautiful and don't ya just love how they will lay in your lap like a dog will? Pics soon. I'll see if the ones I took yesterday came out good enough to post.

Shelly, this is why I say you need to get Hortan a friend and hey I thought you were going to share some new pics of him.

Awww! Stormy looks so much like Hilda! Does she have blue eyes?

The squirt bottle does work well! I feel like I do pretty good w/ Hilda, but haven't had exactly the same things as you've had so like I said not sure how I would handle that!

I just know Miss Hilda needs little reminders to be good now and then. Yesterday she was snuggled deep into some blankets that she had rearranged (they were neatly folded up), and about 5 foot away was my dane Iris fast asleep. Suddenly out of the blue Hilda crawled out, bite Iris on the ear!! and slipped back into the covers before Iris knew what hit her!?! She didn't bite her very hard, but Iris was looking around w/ a confused look on her face! She's deaf so hadn't heard her coming and she slipped back into the covers so fast she didn't see her either! Poor Iris, that was completely uncalled for!

Stormys eyes are not blue. I wish they were because that would be awesome. I call Stormy "Root toot" as her nick name. I am sure you know why.

She gets to rooting my hand and it feels like I need one of those shamwow products afterwards.

She does look alot like Hilda, she is black everywhere not shown in the pic except all four of her feet are white.

Both of my girls come from different parents and I can tell a huge difference in there over all demeanor. Pitunia being 8 weeks old and Stormy being 7 days old when I got them they are like night and day with there behavior. Stormy is far more needier but she is just 8 weeks old so therefore still a baby. Hopefully she will grow out of it. Pitunia is a angel, doesn't let anything bother her. If one of the dogs growls at her she stops what she is doing and it looks like she is thinking the the situation out.

I am concerned about the dogs. I brought her here so it is my job to protect her at all cost. I think things will work themselves out. I mean my dogs get into tiffs and they work it out. The reason I had gotton on to the dogs is because if one of them got on her the others will pack up on her. I feel like I need to set the rules with the dogs before anything happens. If Stormy starts head butting the dogs for no reason than I will have to fix that problem but that isn't happening. I really think what happened last night wouldn't of happened it the dogs hadn't stolen her carrot and the other two dogs were not standing close to her food bowl.

I know with my dogs the food game is a serious one. Its looking like pigs are no different. With my dogs I have to feed each one in seperate areas. Being dog bit 19 times you learn. Now all those bites happened over a 30 year time spam and with 100s of dogs. Before I got sick I ran a rehab for abused and abandoned animals, placing unwanted animals in loving homes for years.

They're face markings are just so similar! But Hilda has more white on her body.

Sounds like you have things under control. It's amazing how different they all are, I know w/ Hilda I think I have to stay on top of things because she likes to test her boundries now and then.

Well thanks for your input. After my BIL asking what I did to the pigs for biting the dogs I started thinking "was I doing wrong by not getting on to them." It has been clear the dogs had started it. As far as Stormy going after the two dogs last night that hadn't done anything I have to think there food bowls was right there while there snacks were being passed out and she was angry because another dog got her carrot. Pig owners know pigs live to eat. THAT IS THERE MISSION!

Its just funny because Stormy is the smallest thing in the house. She isn't taking anything off any of them.

My pigs live with a pittbull who is 13 years old and could care less if they are here. He weighs 80 lbs. One bite could do them in. The problem is the younger ones which are knee high pittbull/blue heeler mixes. Having this mix breed isn't the easiet breed to own. Talk about attitude with these dogs. I still feel like I did the right thing because little Stormy isn't going to kill one of them but if they packed up on her they could hurt or kill her. {they are never left alone together.} I think the dogs will get the hint and leave her alone of cource the dogs will always be close to there food bowls when food is being passed out.

Pitunia and Stormy learned the hard way to stay away from the cats. SMACK with a claw right across the kisser.

The problem seems to only happen when food is involved. Now with dogs I have to seperate them while they eat because of dog fights. {been bit 19 times} The dog stealing Stormys carrot set the whole thing off. I do seperated the pigs and dogs when they eat because of dog fights. My So was standing by my girls bowls, he had giving Stormy a bite of carrot while he stood by the bowls cutting the remaining carrot up to give to my girls. She took it upon herself to head butt the one that stole her carrot and then procedded[sp] to head butt the next two closest to her bowl.

This has been the only problem I have had out of her. My fear is that she will head butt my dogs and get a big mess started. I am not freightned enough to remove any dogs. Just hoping Stormy doesn't keep it enough where the dogs pack up on her.

I think it will be alright though. We want get her snacks ready in front of the dogs again.

Whatever you do, don't take here carrot!

lol....just keep them seperated whenever food is involved. and dont let her head butt them in front of you! you have to be her boss...she needs to know she cant do that!...when Hammie tries it..*somtimes he will go after my in-laws little dog* i jump on him very fast! *I shove him back away from the dog using his shoulder...you have to make them back-up..* and I make him go lay down in his bed. he squeals and whines...and pouts and puts his head down like he "WANTS" to challenge me...but he goes and gets in his bed. Now my little sweet little Dyson he never, ever challenges anyone for anything!..because he knows Hammie is above him in the pecking order and that i am above Hammie...(if that makes any sense) but, honestly, beware dogs and pigs do not mix well at all!!..because....the pigs WILL challenge a dog and therefore make the dog go after them...so...just dont let the pig head butt the dogs cause it could get bad some day...has she challenged you at all yet?.
