Look at the little cutie that showed up at my place...NEW PICS

What a cutie! Hope you find her owners, I bet they miss her. Is that a century plant in the background? It is beautiful!

...wants her own Century plant one day

Yes, I was wondering if that was what she was. Or possibly a bichon. She still has her puppy teeth so I imagine she's less than 5 months old. She is seriously food aggressive, though. She turned into a little piranha when I fed her. Do you have any clues how to handle that? I've never had a food aggressive dog before. I'm sure she's young enough to have that trait altered. Yes...?

Yes that is a century plant. We do have a lot of them and they send up suckers all over the place. Very easy to transplant. Where do you live? Can I send you one?

Yes, I agree, it looks possibly a maltese or multipoo. My Gismo (multipoo) looks very simular. They are very sweet dogs and never has caused a problem. Once you get her cleaned up send more pics. Very friendly dogs and good with small children unlike my terrier.

Cute pup!!!! I have a rescue Malamute that was extremely food aggressive and resource guarding. I had to "train" her (yup, me.....nobody really listens to me. All my critters occasionally have selective hearing.....) to stop that behavior. Was fairly easy though: I would fill her dish (no free feeding, regular meatimes, 2 x daily at my house), turn around with the dish in her hand and tell her to sit. I then lowered the dish...as soon as she got up I took the dish up again. I did that a few times until she was able to kind of sit until the dish was in front of her. Every day I would insist" on a better and longer sit until I had her sitting in front of the dish , waiting for my "OK" and then she started eating. I can now take her food away anytime. She really learned quickly what was expected and she doesn't have to be told to sit. She just does it and waits to get the OK

I'm trying to find out more about the differences between maltese and bichon frise breeds, so far I'm seeing a big difference with the way the hair grows out- maltese is much straighter.

Bichon Bichon

Maltese

With short hair they look the same:

Bichon
Maltese
Maltese

I'll update you with whatever else I find out.

The biggest difference I'm seeing is in the tails. Bichon frise hold it on their back like a pomeranian, maltese don't.

She looks to me like a Havanese or a Coton Du Tulear. Havanese are noted for aggression I have had to deal with several that were in the extreme catagory for different aggressive responses.

File a police report on her just in case the owner has called them looking for their dog.
