Look At These Awesome Shoes! They Are Like None Other!

Be careful. One of my fellow teachers bought those, she is an avid runner/cyclist, and she ended up with sprained and broken toes. She sprained her left foot running, and when she had a bike accident with some others after getting bunched up, they went down, her foot went into spokes and she broke every toe on her right foot. They are a great fad I guess, but I hope they start advertising them as fun shoes and not some you would wear for sporting events. I've known others who were injured in them too, but not to the extent of my coworker. I have a couple of students who really like them, but they only wear them to school and home, not playing or messing around in.

I wasn't really intending them for being cycling, but for running they say to ease into them. There was a trail run round these parts, and the winner (Who was REALLY fast) wore these shoes. (I didn't even think about that till now.... )

When you wear traditional shoes your lower foot is encased in a specially made compartment to hold your arch, toes, joints, etc. in a safe and comfortable position with support. These don't have that support and unless you are on an inside track, where you know there is no chance of stepping on a stone, or an uneven area, you are at danger of really damaging your feet.

Thanks for the pics of the underside! I'm not a jogger/runner, but I can see how they'd be a step in the same direction towards running barefoot, which mankind has been doing forever...lol. I didn't read your link, but I'm betting it's the same kind of info. I was talking about seeing before....that the body actually does better, less pain and being out of alignment when barefoot over shoes, no matter what kind/support. I think they're funny looking, but I bet they're comfortable!

Interesting information, the only thing is this: Was it written for them? If I want to sell two-headed green cows that live near Chernobyl, would I say the milk is wonderful and causes rapid growth so you can excel at basketball or would I say that by the way, you might experience abnormal growth and find yourself with a second head? That is what advertisement is. Do your research and see what you find, it's the best way to make a choice like that. You may never have a problem with them and love them to death. Or you might find yourself with deformed, painful feet. I'm not an expert, just going by what I've seen.

My 29 yr old daughter has been wearing them for a year. Loves them. Hands down. Says she has never felt so good on her feet. She is athletic but not into any athletics except sword-fighting and she says these are great for balance.
I'm thinking of getting myself a pair except for two things: I'd need to get toe socks since my tootsies get cold, and I need wide widths and I'm not sure they have them. Otherwise, I am ALWAYS sockfooted at home and most places that I can be.
I feel safer walking barefooted so I can feel the ground surface. Heels make me nervous and steps even moreso since the bifocals don't give even sight going downhill.
I beleive in barefoot as healthy. My kids were always in sneakers too:)

One of my students bought some and they punctured the first day he wore them on campus. Be careful with them until you know how they will work and wear.

Other than the safety factor, have fun! They do look like frog feet.

Ohh I really like. Here in the south I go barefoot in the yard because shoes make my toes hurt from inability to move even if too big.
This is an in between measure. I'm going to get some definitely. Are they comfortable?
