its a coal bator. I suppose i could phix it up a bit . Use wood instead of coal and spend some time to regualte the temp.

Wow! I wouldn't use that as the bator itself, but as a backup for when power goes out.

i kn ow right but it would be cool if i actualy got it to work and hatched a couple chicks. That would be the highlight of the century ( and trust me this bator would probably know )

I don't think the eggs or chicks were actually put inside that. It appears to be simply a coal stove used to heat a large colony brooder (stacks of commercial type brooders)

ok. Now i getcha. But coul it be in someway turned into a incubator ??

It probably could, but it would be very difficult because the heat would be dircted mainly at the eggs so it would cook them, IMO

I would put a light fixture down the vent on the top, hook it up to a thermostat and put a plexiglass cover over the other large opening in the top. Might work, cast iron holds heat really well.
