Look at this comb: Would you call it a buttercup? Polish/BR crosses

This chick is from my Barred Rock hen and a WCB polish rooster:
I think its comb looks so neat! It has got thick legs, I'm thinking a boy..... What term should I use to describe its comb?

Also next to him is my WCB Polish rooster/ Buff Orpington hen cross. Would you call that a partridge color?

They are starting to grow their little mohawks. They are almost 2 weeks old now.

I would say it looks like a buttercup comb.

That is a sex linked mating- WCB roo x BR hen. All sons barred, all daughters not(barred). That chick has barring so it's a boy for sure.

Not a buttercup comb; I think it is referred to as split. I have a couple of boys with that--starts as a single comb, then splits into two single combs, forming an overall a V shape. I believe it is what happens sometimes with the polish combs when bred to a single combed bird.

My buff orpington/polish mix definitely has the split you are referring to (starts as single comb at the beak, and ends in bumpy V shape at the top) But my Barred Rock/polish mix looks like he has 2 combs side by side that flopped over away from each other, like a middle part on a hairstyle. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time getting them both to hold still long enough for me to get a good pic with my camera phone! I wonder is there a difference in boy/girl expression of this comb type when there's a mix?
