Look at this little chicks legs!

I've been using baby vitamins "Poly vi Sol" on a chick that has the same problem. Seems to be helping already since this morning. She is older than the lil gal in the picture, but I think whoever thought it was vitamin deficiency might be on the money here. I put a few drops in the small chick waterer and a couple of drops down her throat. Hope she gets well. I had a beautiful bird a few years ago that got this as an adult and I had NO IDEA what it was or what to do.......................I finally had to put her down because she wouldn't move at all. I didn't want something else to kill her in a slow painful way, so my husband did it quick when she had no idea.

I don't want to have to ever go through that again.

I'll let everyone know if this works.

Happy Clucking!

Hello again. Well after putting the poly vi sol. in her water for a whole week, and helping her eat and drink she's finally started to stand up straight today. She can't walk yet but she stumbles around and her appitite is much improved. I also made a sort of walker for her and made her sit in it sometimes to encourage her legs to straighten. I used a PVC pipe coupling a bit larger than her and put duct tape around so that the opening was just large enough to hold her and let her legs dangle down kind of like those baby walkers we use with the trays for our own babies when they're learning to walk. I think she might be some sort of lil runt because she's never really developed a comb, but I really just want her to live now and have a nice life as I've grown very attached. Anyone else have good results from using the baby vitamines? I think its what has helped most.

Depending on what the issue is, they either will or won't respond to vitamins, so if she's responding that seems that would be the answer in this case, but if she doesn't get better completely, there may also be an injury involved.

Thanks for the follow up, it's always good to know what works. Best wishes.
